Tea Room, Gift Shop and Second-hand Bookshop
Winterbourne is still operating as a cashless site – card payments only.
Tea room
Winterbourne’s tea room is open daily from 10.30am , closing half an hour before the garden. As well as all the usual drinks and cakes, the menu includes sandwiches, jackets, seasonal platters and freshly made soup. Or why not treat yourself to an Afternoon Tea for just £19.95* per person – available all day until 3pm, with no pre-booking required.
Please note: The tea room is located centrally on the site and so admission must be paid in the Reception to permit entry; please view our admission prices here.
Last entry is 4.30pm.
*Vegetarian and Gluten Free options available
Gift shop
With a collection of greetings cards so enticing that some visitors travel for miles to buy them, you’re sure to find a memento of your visit or a gift for a friend before you depart. Choose from artwork from our printing press, locally-made soaps and Winterbourne-harvested honey, or perhaps a pewter ornament hand-cast in a Birmingham workshop operating since 1779. There are also plenty of pocket money toys, perfect to keep kids amused on the journey home.
Outside, our propagated plants also draw the crowds, and we offer 10% off plant sales to our members.
Second Hand Bookshop
Our second hand bookshop offers the chance to have a browse through titles from all genres, from vintage classics to gardening, cookbooks and even the very latest popular fiction. There’s a dedicated children’s section and we often have maps and records looking for their next home. With sale tables and multi buy offers there is always a bargain to be found.
Need some room on your shelves? We are always looking for donations to keep our shop well stocked and the proceeds go towards supporting the upkeep of the House and Garden. If you would like to donate some books please drop them off in Reception, or for larger quantities give us a call in advance so we can direct you straight to our store.
Please note: access to the Shop, Bookshop and the plant sales requires an admission ticket.
