Day nursery policies: Safeguarding your child’s welfare
It’s really important that you feel involved and included in the care we give your child. These policies have been developed over time to make sure we’re consistent in the quality of our childcare, and transparent about what we do – so you’ll always know what to expect.
Here are some of our policies
- Promoting Positive Behaviour
- Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
- Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Sickness and Illness
- Health and Safety
- Sun Safety Policy
There are many more, to cover all aspects of caring for your child. If you’d like to read any policy in full, they’re available in the main entrance of both nurseries. If you’d like a copy for yourself once your child has joined the nursery, please ask at any time and we’ll be happy to share.
You’ll be given all the key information you’ll need in your Parent Induction, tailored to your child’s needs, when we welcome you to the nursery.
Inclusion and equality
You’re entitled to a fair and equal nursery environment for your child, which is accessible, inclusive and free from stereotyping.
Birmingham Day Nurseries have a clear policy on Inclusion and Equality, and have made an absolute commitment: no adult or child will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of sex, age, race, religion or belief, marriage or civil partnership, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or maternity, ethnic or national origin, or political beliefs. You child will be learning in an environment of mutual respect and empathy.
Are you especially worried about finding a place for your child? Perhaps your child has additional needs, your family situation is complex, or you’ve been disappointed by childcare in the past. Come and talk to us: we’re well-known in the local community for our positive, inclusive approach. Everyone’s welcome.
